The state of Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe,
bordering the nations of Belarus, Hungary, Moldova,
Poland and Romania. The territory of Ukraine is
603,700 sq km making it the largest European
country. It has a population of 48 million people
and the capital is Kiev.
Ukraine is an industrial and agricultural state.
At present moment, Ukraine provides education to
nearly 17,000 foreigners and keeps on increasing
every year. Roughly 25% of 500 professions are being
taught at Ukrainian higher educational institutions
which are related to high technology and advanced
industries such as aviation & space, electronics,
telecommunication ands chemistry. It can be said
that 10% of higher education programmes offered are
having an inclination towards fundamental sciences.

System in Ukraine
The Higher Education constitutes an integral part of
Ukrainian education system as provided for by the
Law of Ukraine ‘ On Education’. The law ensures the
fundamental scientific, professional, and practical
training by the following educational and
qualifications degrees:

Junior specialist - produced by 1st
Level Institutions i.e. Technical and Vocational
Schools, and other educational institution of 1st
Level Accreditation

Bachelor – produced by 2nd Level
Institutions i.e. colleges and other educational
institutions of the 2nd Level of accreditation
(basic higher education)
-
Specialist Master (Post Graduate
Education) – trained by 3rd & 4th Level Institutions
i.e. Institutes, Conservatories, Academies and
Universities (complete higher education)
The higher
education conducted at Higher Educational
Institutions is of the respective levels of
accreditation on the basis of:
• Basic
• General Secondary
• Complete General Secondary
• Educational Qualification Degree (as mentioned
above)
*State owned higher educational
institutions and other form of ownership exist in
the system of Higher Education.
Tuition Fees and Cost of Living
The tuition fees vary from one University to another
and depend on the medium of instruction used. The
common languages of instruction are English, Ukraine
and Russian (which is upon the discretion of the
students to decide).
